863,840. Gravity-separation apparatus. HARTLEYS (STOKE-ON-TRENT) Ltd. Sept. 4, 1959 [Sept. 11, 1958], No. 29101/58. Class 46. A number of members 25, Figs. 2 and 5, depend from a rotating gantry 11, Fig. 2, and each member 25 has a lever 28 pivoted to it at 27, the pivot being horizontal and, as shown, radial to the tank. Each lever 28 has attached to it a scraper blade 33, Fig. 5, the mode of attachment being again a pivot, 30, 34, which also is horizontal, but at right angles to the pivot 27. The scraper blades are thus self-adjusting to the irregularities of the tank floor. An adjustable balance-weight 29 is provided. The blades may form a curve as in Specification 721,552. The tank may be rectangular. Specification 789,134 also is referred to.
