Abstract

782,594. Valves. HIGH-PRESSURE COMPONENTS, Ltd. March 1, 1956 [March 25, 1955], No. 8810/55. Class 135. In a non-return check valve comprising two coaxially arranged body parts 1, 2 screwthreadedly connected together and a valve member 7 slidable in one body part and urged by a spring 8 into engagement with a resilient seat ring 12 mounted in a recess 11 in the other body part, a projecting annular surface 9 surrounding the recess engages a complementary surface 10 on the valve member to prevent undue deformation of the ring. The ring which also provides a seal between the body parts is further prevented from being unduly deformed by metal-to-metal engagement between the body parts. When the valve is open flow takes place through spaces between the valve member and the body part 2 and radial slots or holes 14 and also through inclined holes 15.
