759,828. Respiratory appliances. LEWIS, H. B. May 21, 1954, No. 29404/55. Divided out of 769,802. Class 81(2). [Also in Group XXVIII] A respirator filter comprises a hollow rectangular housing 35 which is open at the bottom and has V- shaped notches in its end walls so as to receive a frame 52 which clamps a sheet of filter material 41, at its edges, between the two parts. Air enters through holes 55 in the base of the frame, passes through the filter material and leaves the housing 35 through a connection tube 22 carrying an inhalation valve 28. The upper bar 54 of the frame may have upwardly projecting spikes 65 which engage the filter material and prevent it slipping while the device is being assembled.
