[Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXI] A clip or clamping device comprises a U- shaped clamping element 1 adapted to embrace one side of a tube or bar 4 in combination with a cross-member which extends between and is removably supported by the sides of the clamping element 1, an opposed auxiliary clamping element 5 which is slidable between the sides 6 of the clamping element 1 and embraces the cross-member so that the latter is disposed between opposite sides of the auxiliary clamping element and a clamping screw 13 engaging an internallythreaded hole 12 in the cross-member for forcing the opposed clamping element 5 into engagement with the side of the tube or bar opposite to that engaged by the clamping element 1. The clamping element 5 is also U-shaped and is arranged with its sides 8 at right angles to the sides 6 of the clamping element 1. The end edges 7 of the sides 8 are inwardly curved for engagement with the tube or bar. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the cross-member is a transverse pin 10 and this passes through slots 9 of the sides 6 of the clamping element 1, grooves in the pin engaging the edges of the slots 9. The device may be used to support a bag on a pedal cycle, as shown in Fig. 5, by welding a support 15 to one of the members of the device. In Fig. 8, the cross-member is a motor-cycle crash-bar 18 and the grooves are omitted.
