Abstract

754,496. Air alters; alarms; air intake silencers. KNECHT, A. July 7, 1954 [July 7, 1953], No. 19928/54. Class 7(2) [Also in Group XXVIII] In an air purifier more particularly constructed as a suction noise damper with a two part or multi part casing for an exchangeable filter cartridge, the filter cartridge is centred upon two angle rings one of the rings having a radial flange in contact with and secured to an internal bottom surface of a bottom part of the casing and the other ring having a radial flange in contact with and secured to an internal top surface of a removable cover or top part of the casing and the cartridge bears against the radial flanges of these angle rings through sealing rings and in one of the interengaging marginal rims of the casing parts an encircling corrugation is provided for the accommodation of a sealing ring. As shown a filter cartridge 7 which consists of a paper pulp insertion 8 is mounted on angle rings 5, 6 sealing rings 11, 12 being provided. As shown a sealing ring 14 is located in a groove in the cover 3 but it may be in a groove in the casing part 2. A whistling valve 22 is mounted in the cover, preferably in a trough-like depression. A resilient sleeve 25 is located in the outlet. The casing may be circular in plan instead of being shaped as shown in Fig. 2.
