A fertilizer distributer of the kind having an elongated hopper 1 mounted on wheels 26 and provided with a series of dispensing mechanisms in its base comprising horizontal rotary discs 6 with peripheral blades which impel the fertilizer through apertures into feed-tubes 20 leading to hollow coulters 29, is characterized in that each dispenser is mounted in a housing 4 which is detachably held against the hopper-base by a readilyreleasable clamp 16. Each disc 6 has an integral stub-shaft 8 of non-circular section so as to be driven by a corresponding bush 9 integral with a worm-wheel 10 engaged by a worm 24 on a transverse shaft 21 driven by the landwheels 26. The hopper 1 may be mounted on a frame 25 also carrying a seed distributer 27, discharging through tubes 28 into the coulter 29. The gearing 34, 35 between the land-wheel axle and the fertilizer hopper incorporates elements mounted on a pivoted arm 36 connected to a lever 31 which raises the coulters to inoperative position so that the fertilizer-feed is simultaneously interrupted. In a modification, the stub-shafts 8 carrying the dispenserrotors are circular and carry pins which are driven by dogs on the driving-bushes 9.
