753,430. Plain bearings. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. Sept. 23, 1954 [Sept. 23, 1953], No. 27587/54. Class 12 (1). In a plain bearing assembly, a shaft journal 3 has a covering of metal 4 which is softer than the bearing surface of the bearing 1, the bearing surface being made of grey cast iron. The covering is preferably bronze and the journal unhardened. The journal surface is suitably roughened before the application of the bronze covering by means of a spray gun. An oil thrower ring 5 is secured to the shaft 2 and runs in a recess 6 in the bearing body 1. Trapped oil is returned through a channel 7 to the oil supply channel 8.
