Abstract

752,754. Lamp holders. RAYSIGNS, Ltd. Aug. 6, 1954, No. 22970/54. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XI] The lamp-supporting members 21 of a supporting fitting for a tubular electric lamp 14 having contacts at both ends (see Group XI) each comprises a block 19 of insulating material formed with a shallow. recess 22 to receive the end lamp cap 31 and with a metallic contact in the centre of the recess, such contact is formed by head 24 of a screw 23 passing through the block 19 and through a hole 27 in a lug 16 of the fitting to receive a nut 28 for securing the block to the lug 16. The screw is insulated from the lug 16 as by an insulating grommet 26, and the end of the connecting wire 34 is clamped between the grommet 26 and an insulating washer 35 by means of the insulated nut 28. Spaced lugs 29 surround the recess 22 to prevent the lamp from moving laterally out of the shallow recess.
