Abstract
406,182. Electric - lamp holders. ESQUIROL, P., 23, Cours de la RÚpublique, Castelnaudary, Aude, France. June 23, 1933, No. 17953. Convention date, July 13, 1932. [Class 39 (ii).] A connecting and supporting device for a series of lamps of the screw-cap type comprises a wire coiled to form a helical socket 1 to receive the lamp cap 7, one end 2 of the wire forming a feeder connection which may take the form of a socket 4 attached to or formed from the wire, and the other end of the wire forming a resilient arm 3 that carries a plate 5 and abuts upon the centre contact 6 of an adjacent lamp. Lamps inserted through plain holes 11 in a panel 12 are secured in the panel by the helix 1. At one end of a series of lamps where a feeder is to be connected to the centre contact, an elongated helix 8 is employed to receive an insulating block 9 with an axial socket 10 that abuts resiliently against the contact 6. If the lamps are to be connected in parallel the sockets 4 are connected alternately to opposite poles of the supply.
