Abstract
732,516. Spray-producers. STRAHMAN VALVES, Inc. July 31, 1953, No. 21268/53. Class 69 (3). A combined valve and water spray nozzle includes a handle 12 through which water is fed to a nozzle outlet 17, and a lever 14 which opens a normally closed valve 24 secured to a stem 22 and urged forwardly on to its seating by a spring 42. The stem has a head 23 and a threaded collar 44, which collar has slots engaging the forked upper end of the lever. A plug 30 secured to the stem is slotted at 49 so that the stem can be rotated to adjust the position of the collar 44 thereon, and hence the opening movement of the valve by the lever. A perforated cylindrical spacer 41 holds a stuffing-box 29 in position, and a loop 50 may secure the lever in the spraying position. The device is covered by a rubber jacket 51.
