Abstract

A bearing, bearing surface or like machine part is made of a composition comprising a synthetic resin having a tensile strength greater than 2000 lb./sq. inch and a Brinell hardness greater than 2, having incorporated therewith a minor proportion, preferably from 5 to 30 per cent by weight of the composition, of finely divided polytetrafluorethylene. The synthetic resin may be polyhexamethylene adipamide, polyhexamethylene sebacamide, polyepsiloaminocapramide, polytetramethylene adipamide, polyhexamethylene terephthalamide or polyethylene terephthalate.
