Abstract
A textile fibre drafting apron having inner and outer surface layers of rubber has an additive included in the composition of the inner layer to obtain such frictional properties that the apron will grip on the surface of a driving roll but will slide without vibration over a nose bar. The additive comprises an alkali metal salt containing 10-16 carbon atoms and consisting of one or more aliphatic sulphates and is present in the reange of from 1 to 6 parts by weight per 100 parts of rubber. Preferably the rubber of the inner layer comprises butadiene-acrylonitrile, bone glue, plasticizer, sulphur curing agent, fillers and other additives.
