Abstract

A masterbatch comprising a wet coagulum of natural or synthetic rubber latex having a compatible oil dispersed therein is milled with wet natural rubber in the form of a coagulum or a solid mass until the rubber crumbles. The masterbatch may contain up to 90% by weight of the oil. The final composition may contain from 3 to 40% by weight of oil. Oils specified are processing and extending oils and palm oil.
