Abstract

A composition comprises the coagulation product of a mixture of a synthetic rubber latex that has been vulcanized to a sulphur content of from 1 to 2.5% by weight of the latex solids with an unvulcanized sulphur vulcanizable synthetic and/or natural rubber latex, the resulting composition comprising from 5 to 95% by weight of vulcanized rubber based on the total rubber weight. Part of the vulcanized synthetic rubber latex may be replaced by vulcanized natural rubber latex. The composition may be used to fabricate articles as such or may be used as a masterbatch for mixing with further natural or synthetic rubber.
