Abstract

730,208. Spectacles. HADLEY CO., Ltd. Aug. 18, 1953 [Aug. 18, 1952], No. 20731/52. Class 97 (1). The spectacles consist of two readily detachable components, one consisting of a mounting for the lenses or filters 14 shaped not to touch the face of the wearer, the other comprising a horizontal wire 4 turned backwards to form temples 6 and carrying a central forwardly projecting spike 18 to engage a hole 20 in the lens mounting, the wire at each side of the spike passing over the top of the mounting and engaging forwardly projecting lugs 22. The wire 4 also carries a nose member 10. In one form the lenses or filters are carried in a moulded frame which surrounds them and may carry extension pieces to exclude stray light.
