Abstract
615,272. Spectacles. MARCH, W. C., TRESTAIN, E. C., and HOLMAN, W. G. July 25, 1946, Nos. 22187 and 28026. [Class 97 (i)] A pair of semi-rimless spectacles comprises two resilient brow-bars which lie one behind the other on each side of the bridge and extend along the upper edge of the corresponding lens; the rear brow-bar connects a temple to the bridge and the front brow-bar supports the lens at two points, one at each side, the support at the temple side being affected by springing a projection on this brow-bar into a notch made in the lens edge. In the form shown, to each end of the bridge 11 is soldered a resilient rear brow-bar 27 to which a temple 13 is hinged. To this brow-bar is soldered the nasal end of the front brow-bar 12 having projections 17 and 18 which spring into notches formed in the lens edge. Plaquettes 15 are provided, carried by arms 16 soldered to the brow-bars 27.
