Abstract

728,983. Hypodermic. injection devices. SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DES SERINGUES INDUSTRIELLES S. E. S. I. Feb. 9, 1953 [July 18, 1952; July 18, 1952], No. 3642/53. Class 81 (2). A hypodermic syringe of injectionmoulded plastic is provided with a nipple, which is adaptable to receive a needle mount of anv size within a selected range, and a hollow plunger closed at its inner end and with an opening at its outer end which is provided with a removable plug, the cavity within the plunger being such that it can hold a supply of hypodermic needles. The plug 22 is externally threaded to fit an internal thread on the plunger 11. The plug 22 is also provided with a V-shaped groove which overlies the extreme end of the plunger 11. The inner end of the plunger is provided with an annular groove 17 in which fits an elastic ring 18 for providing a seal between the plunger 11 and the barrel 10. The needle-receiving nipple 14 is either offset (as shown) or coaxial with respect to the axis of the syringe. Several tapering stepped portions 14c, 14b, 14a form the nipple 14, each stepped portion being dimensioned so that it will fit a needle mount of a corresponding size. When larger needle mounts are used the narrower stepped portions may be cut off along lines x-x or y-y.
