Abstract

728,880. Capseals for container closures. AMERICAN FLANGE & MANUFACTURING CO., Inc. Aug. 14, 1953 [March 31, 1953], No. 22474/53. Class 125 (3). A tamperproof capseal fitted over the head 5 of a screw plug closure 6 of a barrel or drum and having a top 1 and skirt 2 has internal scores 22, 23 up the skirt and across the top and a sealing ring 24 with portions extending into the scores where it crosses them to avoid leakage at said scores. Tabs 14, 15 are in alignment with the scores and the screwplug has a gasket 17. The scores may converge to a single score across the top or they may have diagonal scores in addition to the parallel scores of Fig. 2. The gasket is applied to the scored cap in fluid state and formed in situ.
