Abstract
537,239. Closures for collapsable tubes. EVANS, T. F. Dec. 12, 1939, No. 32065. [Class 125 (iii)] The end of the nozzle part 2 of a collapsable tube 1 has an aperture 3 with which an aperture in the rotatable cap 8 can be brought into register. The nozzle has an external cam face 4 and the cap an internal cam face as described in Specification 435,260. The tube also has an annular recess 6 bounded by a wall 5 round the nozzle and this recess receives the flanged end 10 of the cap skirt. The wall 5 is then spun over the flange as shown in the right-hand side of Fig. 3. The cap skirt is cut so that a pin 7 limits movement to bring the apertures into register or completely out of register. In the modification shown in Fig. 5 the cap skirt 12 has a flange 14 and the cam surface is formed on the upper surface 15 of the flange instead of on the end of the nozzle. In the further modification shown in Fig. 7 screw threads 8b are formed on the flange of the cap skirt and these act as cam surfaces.
