Abstract

727,920. Feeding continuously delivered filaments &c. CHEMSTRAND CORPORATION. Nov. 4, 1952 [Nov. 14, 1951], No. 27750/52. Class 120(2). [Also in Group XVI] A device for directing a running length of tow, sliver, filaments, yarns, threads, or the like into a feeding mechanism, such as rollers 5, 6, has directing means 11 adapted for movement towards and away from the rollers 5, 6 and provided with curved sides converging towards the feeding mechanism and rollers 14, 15 on either side of the directing means to contact the running material. Cutting means, such as a V-shaped knife blade 7, is located adjacent the feeding mechanism for operation upon downward movement of the directing means. Preferably, the directing means 11 is operated by a hand or foot controlled pneumatic or hydraulic device 8.
