Abstract
Textile fibres, e.g. wool, hair, silk, polyamide and polyurethane fibres, are dyed with acid dyestuffs of the kind customarily applied from a sulphuric acid or formic acid bath with the addition to the bath, instead of or in addition to sulphuric or formic acid, of sulphaminic acid (NH2.SO3H) or an aromatic sulphinic acid (Aryl-SO2H) or a salt of either of these acids. The sulphaminic acid or aromatic sulphinic acid or salts thereof may be mixed with an acid dyestuff, preferably in the dry state, to form a dyestuff preparation. Numerous examples are given in which sulphaminic acid, benzene sulphinic acid, sodium benzene sulphinate, sodium sulphaminate and sodium-1-methoxy-2-acetylamino - benzene - 4 - sulphinate are employed.
