Class 6 (2) A motor 39 for driving, by means of an endless belt 43, the cutter cylinder 16 which, in turn, drives the ground wheels 4, is mounted on a plate 35 pivoted on a spindle 29 between the shafts of the motor and cylinder so as to enable the tension of the belt to be adjusted. The connection between the cylinder and ground wheels is by ratchet clutches which can be removed and reversed, a reversing switch for the motor being also provided for enabling the direction of rotation of the cylinder to be reversed for sharpening purposes.
