718,936. Crushing mills. STOLBERGER ZINK AKT.-GES. FUR BERGBAU UND HUTTENBETRIEB. Jan. 14, 1953 [Jan. 15, 1952] No. 1068/53. Class 59 In a centrifugal pin type crushing mill having its crushing pin carrier-2 rotatable about a vertical axis, a centrifugal plate 1 is disposed within the ring of crushing pins 8 and percussion rings 25, 27 are disposed inside and outside the ring of crushing pins. The rings may be vertical or inclined and consist of several overlapping sections which are adjustable in height. The plate 1 is provided with a flat or dished wear resisting layer 7 which may consist of one or more parts. The carrier 2 is provided with a plurality of vertical or inclined pockets in which the pins fit loosely and with a wear resisting ring 9 consisting of one or more parts and having holes in which the pins fit more closely. The pockets may be of varying depth so that worn pins from deep pockets can be used in shallower pockets. Ends of used pins may be butt welded to form new pins. The supply hopper 24 may be vertical or inclined and may be replaced by a shoot. The plate 1 and pin carrier 2 may, as shown be separate members or the plate 1 may form part of the pin carrier.
