Class 61 A hydraulic puller for wheels, pulleys &c., comprises a reservoir 2 from which liquid is sucked by a piston pump 11 and pressed into a pressure chamber 5 in a cylinder 10 provided with a piston 15 carried by a piston rod 6 which presses against the end of the shaft from which the wheel, &c., is to be pulled, the cylinder 10 having attached thereto two radial wings 9 provided with holes for attaching a pair of arms adapted for connection to the wheel, &c. A cylindrical oil reservoir 2, Fig. 1, screwed on to the head of the cylinder 10 encloses the pipe of the piston pump 11. The operating lever 13 is carried through a lever 21 by a ring 19 rotatably mounted on the cylinder 2. The lower end of the pipe of the piston pump is screwed to'a valve housing 24 which is turnable in the head of the cylinder 10. Oil is admitted to the pump through a non-return valve 3 and discharged from the pump to the pressure chamber 5 through the non return valve 4. The oil in the pressure chamber is returned to the reservoir through a passage in the valve housing by release of a manually operable valve. In a modification, Fig. 3, the piston 15 is mechanically connected to the valve housing 24 and pressure pump 11, the housing 24 being located in the cylinder 10 which serves as the reservoir. Oil is sucked through a passage way 31 in the piston and valve housing, after which it passes through a valve 3 to the pump from whence it is discharged through the valve 4 to the chamber 5. The oil in the pressure chamber is returned to the reservoir through the pipe 30 by opening the return valve 7. The pipe 30 is adapted to form a handle.
