615,701. Lubricating pumps. ETABLISSEMENTS H. HAMELLE SOC. ANON. Aug. 7, 1946, No. 23443. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1945. [Class 102 (i)] A lubricating pump comprises a body 1 having a number of parallel cylinders 2 disposed around the axis of the pump, and pistons 3 operated by a cam 4, rotatably mounted on a shaft 7 which is connected by a key 25, having a projection 26, to a wheel 22 in mesh with a screw 23 driven by the pump engine. A plate 12, secured by screws 11 to the body 1 and provided with orifices 13 opposite the lower opening of each cylinder 2, bears upon a rotatable member 14 connected to the shaft 7. The member 14, which is provided with a semicircular port 16 whereby the orifices 13 are put into communication with a chamber 18 connected by a pipe 20 to an oil inlet 21, is applied to the plate 12 by a spring 30, assisted by the discharge pressure and, bearing on a cup 31 slidable in an elastic packing ring 32. The underside of the plate 12 and the upper face of the cup 31 are provided with oil recesses. Oil is first drawn from the chamber 18 through the port 16 and the orifice 13 to each cylinder 2 from which it is discharged through a conduit 34 to a lubrication tube 36. To disconnect the wheel 22 from the shaft 7 and effect the manual rotation of the plate 14 by a handle 40, a sleeve 42 is pressed axially to displace the projection 26 from its seating in the shaft 7, by means of a rod 49, to a position below the lower face of the shaft 7. A screw 6 permits the regulation of the stroke of the pistons 3.
