Abstract

715,759. Scaffolding, floor shuttering. KWIKFORM, Ltd. Aug. 5, 1952 [Aug. 4, 1951; Aug. 16, 1951], Nos. 18522/51 and 19315/51. Class 20 (2) An adjustable connection between the uprights of scaffolding frame units supporting floor shuttering comprises a threaded bar 22 fixed to a tube 20 engaging the top of the upright 28 of one scaffolding frame unit. The bar is turnable in a nut 23 which rotatably engages the bottom of an upright 26 of another scaffolding frame unit. Relative lateral movement between bar 22 and tube 26 is prevented by a disc 14 on the end of the bar 22 and engaging in the tube 26. The bar 22 is welded to a nut 21 welded to the tube 20. In one construction the bar 22 may turn in the nut 21 also. Various connections for the end of the strut are shown including a spigot adapted to fit in the tube 20 and carrying a thrust plate to which one of a number of channelshaped members described are fixed for supporting horizontal scaffold members, and the spigot may carry a scaffold clamp, Fig. 10 (not shown).
