706,539. Thread-advancing reels. COURTAULDS, Ltd. July 18, 1952 [July 20, 1951], No. 18175/52. Class 120(2) A thread-advancing reel of cantilever construction comprises at least two reel members 10, 11, each mounted for rotation about an axis that is eccentric to the other and each having a periphery of a number of longitudinally extending bar members 12, 13 in interleaved relationship, and for the purpose of providing a substantially constant let-off point for the thread, each bar member is tapered at the thread letoff end at an acute angle, preferably about 45 degrees, formed by a plane transverse to the lengths of the bar members with a plane parallel to the lengths thereof. An eccentric sleeve 20, attached by a flange 25 to the spinning machine, supports in bearings 22 a driven shaft 15 to which the concentric reel member 10 is attached. The reel member 11 attached to a hub 18, rotates on the sleeve 20 in bearings 19. Specifications 413,414 is referred to.
