Class 20 (2) A modification of the connecting means for mine roof girders described in the parent Specification consists in locating the holes to receive the articulation pin e at the top part of the jaws b, b' and the hooks d, d' for receiving the tightening key f at the bottom part of the jaws, the profile of the jaws b, b<SP>1</SP> being asymmetric and such that the longitudinal axis of the key f is offset laterally from the axis of the pin e with its lateral axis in an oblique position to the horizontal. Both side faces of the key f and the cooperating faces of the hooks have a helicoidal or other ruled surface. Specification 660,738 is referred to.
