Abstract
699,867. Electrostatic precipitation.. RESEARCH CORPORATION. March 5, 1951, No, 5255/51. Class 39(i) [Also in Group XXIX] In an electrostatic precipitator with liquid-flushed vertical extended surface electrodes 12, horizontally directed jets of pulsating character are provided so that the flushing liquid is distributed cyclically along the tops of the electrodes to flow downwards uniformly over the electrodes. As shown, stages 10, 101 and 11, 11<SP>1</SP> of a two-stage precipitator are flushed from central spray pipes 19, 19<SP>1</SP>, or at each level, pairs of spray pipes may be provided, one on each side. The electrodes may consist of metal sheets or of metal surfaced sheet material, - or, when used with conductive liquid, they may be non-conductive.
