695,429. Refrigerating. AKTIEBOLAGET HAKANSSONS INDUSTRIER. Nov. 23, 1951 [June 30, 1951], No. 27590/51. Class 29 [Also in Group XI] An annular boiler 10 for gas heated absorption refrigerating apparatus has a central flue 9 around the lower end of which is disposed a tubular sleeve 11 forming part of the inner wall of the boiler vessel and provided at its upper end with holes 13 for the flow of secondary air into the flue, a catalyst 15, e.g. wads of platinum asbestos being provided above the holes 13 for igniting the mixture of secondary air and combustible gases to produce a flame in the region of the free surface 8 of the liquid in the boiler. The sleeve 11 is welded to the flue tube 9 at 12 and a helical upper strip 16 is inserted in the flue tube above the holes 13. Heat conducting flanges 17 project radially from the flue tube into the boiler vessel 10. The helical strip 16 can be replaced by a tube wth heat absorbing flaps punched out and bent inwardly.
