Abstract
616,266. Boilers. PORAY, M. C. K. DE. Aug. 30, 1945, No. 22324. Convention date, May 17. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 30, 1945.] Addition to 613,924. [Classes 64(i) and 123(ii)] [Also in Group XII] In the boiler of the parent Specification, the liquid receptacle includes a tubular shell 7 closed at the top, the gases flowing from the flue 11, forming the secondary combustion chamber, through an annular passage 20 between the flue 11 and the tubular shell 7. The hot gases are then drawn by a fan 37 to the smoke box 35 and chimney 39 through tubes 12 which may contain slidable and/or rotatable helical or other clearing blades 32. A damper 43 allows the fan to be by-passed. The primary combustion chamber has a fireclay roof 17 with surfaces inclined so as to give the hot gases a spinning motion, and secondary air is supplied through two tangential and adjustable tuyeres 26 and an inlet 28 in the firedoor 29. A flange 5 accumulates ash to protect rivets connecting the inner and outer walls 1, 3, and reduces the draught near the wall 3. The grate 14 is spaced from the bottom of the boiler to facilitate clearing, and is in two tiltable sections. The tubes 12 are arranged in a ring with a space opposite the man-hole 34.
