Abstract
680,005. Chimneys &c. FEDERATED FOUNDRIES, Ltd., and SILVER, R. S. Sept. 4, 1950 [June 8, 1949], No. 15229/49. Class 25 [Also in Group XI] In a chimney arrangement for a solid fuel combustion appliance the draught is increased by the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 in which the flue pipe b terminates within the bell-shaped inlet d of a duct c disposed in and merging into the chimney a. Excess air entering the inlet d, which may be provided with a damper, entrains the waste gases passing through the flue b to increase the draught therein. The invention is shown applied to a domestic cooking range, Fig. 2, in which the flue e enters a further flue g of convergent-divergent section leading to chimney h. Hot water gases from the boiler flue m and the oven flue n under control of damers k and l respectively traverse the space between the flues e and g, increasing the draught through the former.
