Abstract

693,844. Flexible couplings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Aug. 27, 1951 [Oct. 5, 1950], No. 24300/50. Class 80 (ii). A flexible coupling between a pair of spaced members 1 adapted to be secured to shaft ends comprises a multiple helical spring 5 encircling a cylindrical rubber supporting member 7 and surrounded by a rubber sleeve 10 which may be moulded integrally with the member 7. The ends of the spring are clamped within recesses 3 in the member 1 by conical or cylindrical members 6 and clamping screws 8; or they may be hooked over pegs projecting radially from the members 1. The ends of the rubber member 7 may be bonded to the members 6 or 1.
