890,052. Raising liquid. ALLCHIN, E. F. May 15, 1959, No. 16652/59. Class 102(2). [Also in Groups XXIII and XXIX] In apparatus for washing or cleaning, (see Group XXIII) comprising a flexible pipe 11 at one end 14 of which is provided a non-return flap valve, the arrangement is such that when the non-return valve is placed in a body of liquid and the pipe 11 with a column of liquid therein is reciprocated longitudinally, liquid is drawn into the pipe from the body of liquid through the non-return valve and is ejected through the end of the pipe 11 remote from the valve.
