Abstract

591,146. Flexible shaft-couplings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and GRAY, T. E. H. Sept. 7, 1944, No. 17096. [Class 80 (ii)] A flexible shaft-coupling comprises rubber or other yielding material 8, adhered to an inner sleeve 1 secured to one shaft, Fig. 1, and having outwardly flared conical portions adhered to outer members 12, maintained axially spaced by means such as a casing 6 attached to the other shaft 13. In Fig. 3 four such units 8 are mounted in a floating intermediate split-member 17, with their inner sleeves 1 mounted on axial bolts 21 secured alternately to shaft-members 19.
