686,488. Transformers and inductances. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 28, 1950 [Dec. 9, 1949], No. 29088/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (ii). A laminated magnetic core has a number of sections each comprising a number of laminations, successive laminations of which are denoted as odd or even-numbered, each lamination being butt-jointed to the corresponding lamination in the adjacent section, all the joints in the odd-numbered laminations forming a straight line, and all the joints in the evennumbered laminations-staggered from those in the odd-numbered laminations-forming another straight line, the joints between the laminations being so offset that the straight lines form a " V " pattern having its apex directed transversely or longitudinally of the core.
