669,110. Fuel injectors. AKTIESELSKABET BURMEISTER & WAIN'S MASKIN-OG SKIBSBYGGERI. June 2, 1949 [June 4, 1948], No. 14874/49. Class 7 (iii) In a fuel injection nozzle comprising a valve 1 seating on a flat plate 6 and controlling a passage or passages 8 leading to the spraying orifices 9, the passages 8 have a diameter not exceeding one millimetre to prevent drip. The plate 6 may be provided with an annular cooling chamber 10 connected to cooling liquid feed and discharge passages 13, 14. In a modification the single passage 8 is replaced by a number of very narrow bore passages, and in Fig. 4 a member 22 with narrow bore fuel passages 23 therein is inserted in a wide bore 18 formed in the plate 6 or in a replaceable sleeve 19 secured therein.
