636,098. Fuel injectors. C. A. V., Ltd., EVANS. F. M., and NICHOLLS, W. E. W. March 8, 1948, No. 7067. Addition to 554,446. [Class 7 (iii)] The fuel-injection nozzle described in the parent Specification, which comprises an injection valve f and a spring-loaded non-return valve 3 which opens as the pressure of the fuel rises during injection to allow the pressure to act on a plunger p to increase the load of the valve spring n, is provided with an additional valve 5 which releases the pressure on the plunger p when the pressure in the passage i drops after injection. Fuel leaking past the valve stem e escapes from the chamber o through a passage 7. In a modification the valves 3, 5 comprise spring-loaded ball valves in separate passages connecting the passages g and i.
