Abstract

667,310. Manure distributers. THWAITES, L. B. Jan. 13, 1950, No. 883/50. Class 6(i) A machine having a spiked roller 41 which picks up manure from the ground, when drawn along a row of manure, and throws it rearwardly to rotary spreaders 36 in the form of helical blades is attached to hydraulic lifting links 13, 14 on a tractor 11. As shown the machine is mounted on wheels 22 rotating on stub axles 23 fixed to bell-crank levers 46, the upper arm 48 of which coacts with a bracket 49 having holes for the insertion of a pin which abuts against the arm 48 and varies the position of the wheels and the height of the roller. An inclined baffle board 43 is mounted on the machine frame and laterally spaced guides 44 are provided to extend in advance of the roller 41. The blades 36 are driven by bevel gearing from a shaft 3i connected to the tractor power take-off shaft 12 by chain gearing 29. The roller 41 is driven from the blade shaft 35 by chain and sprocket gearing. Specification 592,988 is referred to.
