Abstract
1,131,725. Seed sowing machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. 17 Jan., 1967 [14 Feb., 1966], No. 2535/67. Heading A1D. A seed sower is provided with supporting wheels 20 mounted in a frame which is pivoted about the axis of a driving shaft 16 and which is connected by a chain 49 to a box 42 mounted on a tractor lift linkage 45, 47 so that as the linkage is raised the chain is tensioned and moves the wheels 20 to raise the coulters 11 clear of the ground as shown in Fig. 3. The shaft 16 to driven from one of the wheels 20 by means of a belt 22 which is tensioned by a pulley 67 on an arm 66 which is moved clear of the belt when the coulters are raised. The seed hopper 9 is provided with two extensions 52A which are pivoted forwardly to lie in front of the hopper 9 for transport purposes.
