663,897. Insulating building unit. DETROIT STEEL PRODUCTS CO. May 30, 1949 [July 6, 1948], No. 14415/49. Class 87(i) A hollow sheet metal building unit 10 having perforations 25 in one or both of its faces 13 is filled with fibrous material 28 spaced from the faces 13 by a metal lattice 30. The fibrous material may be divided into two parts by a vertical fiat or corrugated sheet of waterproofed felt or a layer of waterproof adhesive. The unit is formed by two metal sheets each forming a face 13 and a side edge and bent to fit together at their edges, and top and bottom channel-shaped closure members 20. The side edges are each formed with a tongue 16 and groove 17.
