Abstract
662,826. Gas-blast switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Aug. 8,1949. [Aug. 7, 1948] No. 20552/49. Class 38 (v). Each phase of an air-blast switch is provided with two or more series connected interruptors to which air is supplied through parallel delivery pipes or channels, and one or more parallel connected bridging contact pairs arranged before the interrupters with respect to the delivery of compressed air. In Fig. 3 the arrangement comprises two pairs of interrupting contacts 5, 6 connected in series by means of conductors 19, 20, 22, and two pairs of bridging contacts 11, 12 connected in parallel with each other and with the series connected interrupting contacts. An interrupting unit and a bridging contact unit are arranged in each of two insulating columns to which compressed air may be admitted by blast valves 2 from a container 1. An isolator or disconnecting switch 14, 16, may be provided. In a .modification, Fig. 2, (not shown) one bridging contact assembly is used in. conjunction with two interrupting units, the latter being housed in two parallel insulating cylinders joined by a common pipe to the single insulator housing the bridging contact assembly. Figs. 1a and 1b (not shown) illustrate an arrangement having three pairs of interrupting contacts and three pairs of bridging contacts.
