661,618. Hair curling appliances. JONES, G. June 2. 1950. [June 3, 1949] No. 14992/49. Class 131. A device for forming curls of different sizes and simplifying their tranference to hairgrips comprises a rod-like member 1 divided, by an integral shoulder 3, into two slotted limbs 5, 7 of unequal length, the slot 9 in the shorter member communicating with a channel 11 in the shoulder. The slot 13 in the longer limb 7 does not extend to the shoulder and is provided at the closed end with a wedge shaped rib 15. The curler is preferably formed of thermoplastic material which can be reshaped, after immersion in hot water, if it becomes distorted. Curls formed on the limbs 5 and 7 are removed by sliding one limb of a hair grip along the channel 11 or on a sloping face of the rib 15 respectively.
