Abstract
656,006. Hot closets. RADIANT HEATER CORPORATION. Dec. 21, 1948, No. 32969. Convention date, Jan. 15. [Class 34(i)] A domestic laundry drying cabinet comprises a front panel 10, a rear panel 12 and side panels having flanges which interlock, and a prefabricated top unit having hinged covers 13 fastening means being carried by the panels and other units to retain, them in an assembled position. A base unit 14 containing heating plates 16 and a screen 23, support the cabinet. Ventilation openings 25 are punched in the front base. panel, in the downturned flanges of the covers 13 and in the back portion 26. Front and rear panels 10, 12 carry channel members. 28 which have vertically aligned openings for slidably receiving hangers 29 of approximate U-shape and on which the clothes are hung for drying;- offset portions 30 acting as a stop when the hangers are withdrawn for loading. Stirrup type hangers are hinged to the bottom walls of the covers 13 to support lighter articles. A. vertical partition divides the cabinet into two parts and the heating plates in each are connected electrically so that either one may be used without the other. A lamp 34 said to have sterilizing properties is mounted centrally on the rear wall and has a shield 35. A timing device to switch off the heater after a fixed interval may be provided.
