Abstract

614,554. Clothes &c. airers. FRIEDMANATHILL, Ltd., ATHILL, L. C. H., and FRIEDMAN, H. April 10, 1946, No. 11017. [Class 52 (v)] A drying and airing rack for towels, linen and the like comprises crossbars 7 supported on two hollow uprights 6 between which is a gas-heated radiator and which may be secured to a wall by stays 7a. The radiator comprises a U-shaped member 8 open at the bottom and perforated at 9 near the top within which is a closed U-shaped member 10 containing a baffle plate 15 above a gas burner 13 near which is an air hole 12. Combustion products from the burner 13 escape into the uprights 6 through holes 11 and leave the uprights at vents 17. In a modification the combustion products can only escape into one upright 6 from which they pass to the other upright through a horizontal tube 18 only the latter upright being provided with vents 17.
