Abstract
655,835. Seed sower. HANNIGAN. D. G. Nov. 30, 1948, No: 31087. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1947. [Class 6(i)] A seed sower is arranged to be wholly supported on a tractor and comprises a hopper 2, a series of brushes 11, mounted on transverse shafts, each brush expelling seed through an orifice which is provided with a rotatable plate 15 having a series of holes 16 of progressively increasing diameter, the holes being arranged so that they can be brought into register with the orifice, the plate being locked in the selected position by means of a wing nut 17. The hopper 2 is provided with U bolts 3, which engage rods 4, which are notched to enable the position of the U bolts to be adjusted. The rods 4 are connected to brackets 5 which are adjustably bolted to the tractor draw-bar 8. Two brush shafts are provided which engage, by means of dogs on a central shaft mounted in a selfcontained box 19 and provided with a gear wheel 26 driven by a worm 32 fixed to a longitudinal shaft 33 connected to the tractor power take-off shaft through a shaft 39 and flexible couplings 38.
