Abstract

650,729. Electromagnetic switches. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO.. Ltd. July 15, 1947, No: 18814. Convention date, March 21, 1945. [Class 38(v)] In a multi-pole solenoid-operated contactor particularly suited for aircraft control, pairs of fixed contacts 8 are adapted to be bridged by contacts 7 carried by a rectilinearly-moving insulating rod 10 and the insulating base 9 and insulating cover 12 have barriers which form with the rod 10 individual arc-suppressing chambers for the fixed contacts. The rod 10 is operated by the magnetic plunger 4 through a lever 11, plunger and lever being of the same weight so that a shock has no effect on movement. The plunger 4 also operates a rod 34 to open a spring blade contact thereby removing a short circuit from part of the coil 3. The position of the base 9 and therefore the stroke of the plunger are adjustable by a screw 69.
