Abstract
649,890. Centrifugal-separators SCHOENENBERGER, M. Oct. 21, 1948, No. 27406. [Class 23] In a cyclone, for classifying dust, having inlet and outlet scrolls 1, 6, and in which air for regulating the sizes of the fractions passes through an extension 5 at the bottom of the conical part 4 of the casing, the angle Y of the conical part is less than 25 degrees. A honey-combed or starshaped baffle 12 is located adjacent the extension which has a length at least 1¢ times its diameter. The regulating air is supplied through a pipe 9 to a receiver 7 from whence it passes by the holes 11 into the interior of the extension. The scroll 1 and pipe 8 have control valves 2, 9, and the coarse dust is removed from the receiver by a wheel 10.
