Abstract

646,326. Turning. FATHERS, G. P., and SMITH, C. Oct. 20, 1948, No. 27209. [Class 83 (iii)] A lathe tool holder comprises a tenon 10 or base plate for insertion in, or mounting on, the guide groove 32 of a bed or slide and having projecting upwardly therefrom a post 11 on which is mounted a block 14 having grooves to receive the tool shank 17 which is locked therein by means of screws 18, the block being adjustable vertically on the post by means of a screw 23 which is mounted in a lug 22 of a ring 21 mounted on the post and engages a threaded hole 24 in the block 14, the screw 23 being prevented from moving in an endwise direction. The block 14 is split radially at 19 so as to be adjustable around the axis of the post and is tightened on the post by means of a screw 20.
