Abstract

638,729. Wrappers. ROSE, A. G., CURTIS, A. S., aid ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. March 30, 1948, No. 8946. [Class 94(i)] A package of the kind formed by folding a wrapper about an article in the form of a tube with portions of the tube extending from the ends of the article and formed into end closures comprises a wrapper consisting of two pieces 12 of wrapping material opposing portions of which are connected together in the form of a seam 13 extending around the article by doubling and interleaving said opposed portions so that the package may be readily opened by pulling one or the other of the two wrapper portions away from. the remaining portion. The inner meeting faces of the interleaved portions may be lightly sealed by the application of heat and pressure or by the use of an adhesive. The end closures may be similar or dissimilar, and the two pieces of material may be like or unlike in nature and/or colour. An inner wrapper of a width substantially equal to the length of the article may also be used. The package may be used for blocks of ice-cream, caramels or boiled sweets of various shapes.
